Outdated ads can be frustrating to users who invest time in contacting listings that are no longer available. Being so popular, idealista has become a repository of such obsolete listings, lacking a mechanism to address this issue. Implementing a system to automatically remove or categorise old ads could significantly enhance the user experience. I would recommend notifying the lister once an ad is inactive for a defined period of time. If the lister does not respond to the notification, the ad would automatically be erased. Or if we wanted to go further, for the listers who don’t want the ad to be erased because it will soon be available again, we could add a feature to inform of the availability of the property.


FAQ’s are no where to be seen. There is an option to contact idealista (on the about section). Probably most of the questions could be addressed much quicker.

Throughout the Ironhack experience, I’ve been inspired by the remarkable individuals I’m having the pleasure to meet, leading me to shift my focus towards solutions that can positively impact people’s lifes. While I may not always work on large, impactful projects, I believe in focusing on minimising problems through enhanced digital experiences, even if the impact is relatively modest compared to the broader issues.


As for next steps, I would now focus on developing a more effective solution for the ‘report fraudulent behaviour’ button. This involves conducting desk research and gathering insights through interviews and surveys to understand how people are affected by this issue. Following this, the plan would be to address the outdated ads by interviewing property listers. The goal being comprehend why ads aren’t removed after renting and explore whether introducing a feature to reboot ads into the system when needed, or keeping the property online with available dates, would be preferable. And of course test everything and iterate the process!
